Prolidoxime iodide is a monoquaternary ammonium salt cholinesterase reactivator, which can relieve the nicotine-like symptoms of organophosphorus poisoning, quickly reduce myotremors and bronchospasm, and is used for the rescue of acute organophosphorus poisoning. Phosphorus, systemic phosphorus, thioterp, malathion, and ethion poisoning are more effective in poisoning, but less effective in tabun, dichlorvos, and trichlorfon, and less effective in carbamate insecticides and diazines. The cholinesterase inhibited by pesticides, cyanophos, profenac, and octamethonate has no reactivation effect.

Characteristics:

Phosphorus iodide is yellow granular crystals or crystalline powder, odorless, bitter in taste, and easily deteriorates when exposed to light. Soluble in water and hot ethanol, slightly soluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is stable, but its properties are not stable enough in alkaline solutions. It is easily hydrolyzed into cyanide, which is highly toxic. It should not be compatible with alkaline drugs.

production method:

Obtained from pralidoxime chloride substitution. Add an equal amount of water to pralidoxime chloride, heat to dissolve, add saturated potassium iodide solution dropwise with stirring, precipitate crystals, filter and spin dry. Then recrystallize with distilled water and decolorize with activated carbon to obtain pralidoxime iodide.
